i have had this bookmark on my list for a few months now. apparently its a fleet carrier i have bookmarked inside lft 509. anyone know whats up?

A few months ago FC's didn't exist...
A temporal rift must have been created in that system that pulled OP into a parralel temporal time-line in the possible future.
OP saw what he believed to be an FC but it couldn't be because they didn't exist but it was because here they do so he was in a Quantum superposition of being both a great and accurate prophet and a total plonker at exactly the same moment in two separate universes......

OP, you accidentally bookmarked a carrier early on ... or what Paul Smitth said?

i shared it with my squadron, but ive also got the system bookmarked
Squadron bookmarks bear a squadron watermark, this one doesn't. It looks indeed like a marked carrier, only weird thing is the bookmark bears the name of the system, while he's never been to the system.

You've got an accidental bookmark faster than a lottery jackpot.
Also you shouldn't have the second LFT 509 bookmark as that one is for inside the system map.
If you have exploited to get the map open then I guess it could well be a bug caused by the exploiting.
If you didn't exploit to open the map I would be interested to know how you got the permit
maybe you accidentally have access to the system map for some reason ?
Maybe its caused by the FC ?

I remember bookmarking one of my m8s FC though and the bookmark bugged out for some reason.
And it would show him in places he had never been. Could be related to that I guess.

Someone had access to it. On my first explorations, I have been to systems that were permit locked later on (near witchhead). Maybe it is possible to get your carrier to one of those systems. I'll have a look if I can find such a case.
