I saw it's posted already but buried in the Spanish part of the International Forum, IMHO worthwhile reposting to a bigger audience :)

(I'd sure like to see such a scenery when flying through the Galaxy one day)

Yes, an interesting video. The only problem with these computer simulations is that they concentrate on gravity alone, and completely ignore magnetic and electric charge effects. All three have a role to play.

Agreed. Gravity is the weakest of the forces that shaped our universe. Although probably the easiest to model and simulate. :)

It makes you wonder why the universe exists. Such mysteries break my mind.

Like Sean Caroll said in his talk about quantum fluctuations and vacuum energy - "Maybe the universe is a thing that simply happens, from time to time"

These simulations usually deal with the changing shape and position of the universe, something that us average humans can relate to with ease.

Of the four fundamental forces in the universe, the only other force that has any effect at long distance is the electromagnetic force - and that's really hard for most people to conceptualise because their experience is limited to the narrow visible spectrum and they struggle to relate to representations of the rest of the EM spectrum.

It's not helped by the way that the rest of the EM spectrum is taught and often represented in video/print as waves rather than straight paths.
