I must have some kind of holy grail copy of Elite because I've never had this issue.
I honestly think you know more about what you're talking about than I do, and I ask this as a genuinely helpful suggestion (read: I'm not being a sarcastic troll): Have you checked your NAT settings? I've seen issues in the past with NAT settings making certain players invisible to one another (in other games).
the reason why this is happening is more on the games side than theirs. The game randomly instances players in mid system for no reason and without warning, at least in a game like gw2 they have a prompt telling you that you have been place in another instance. The interdiction thing though is something I don't understand. why are some players getting to many npc interdicts than others? Well, the fact are this happens sometimes with players with high bounties or are carrying a large amount of cargo on their ships, if it was this then this would make sense. But other times players with no bounty nor any cargo get this occurrence too, which doesn't make sense. The latter shouldn't be happening as it makes no sense. Regardless though, FD does need to fix these.I honestly think you know more about what you're talking about than I do, and I ask this as a genuinely helpful suggestion (read: I'm not being a sarcastic troll): Have you checked your NAT settings? With all due respect...we SHOULDNT have to change any settings to play this game with friends.
Im not a PC literate person...and when I need to dig into my PC settings, its a bit scarey for me.
Its the responsibility of the developers to make this game playable as advertised.
All of this will continue as long as FDEV continue to rely on UPnP for the reverse NAT punching for the P2P communication.
I'm not, nor have I for the past 5 years of living in this home with the same Internet, having this issue with any other multiplayer game. Whether the game be held on private servers, or public ones.
Just got a new one this Jan B) feeling pretty cool with my low ping haha
Edit:
Your avatar is horrifying.
My worst fear, is the brokenness will lead to hemorrhaging of players, this game needs a solid player base to work. I simply don't want to see the game die, too much potential. Question is can they win the race, between fixing the game or losing too many players? As I have mentioned elsewhere promises of things to come can only keep a players attention so long. Frustrations while playing will kill that enthusiasm faster than anything.
