General / Off-Topic Video Capture App for ED

Greetings,

Using Fraps for years was OK but the uncompressed file sizes are huge. Nvidia GeForce Experience works with my video card but too much mouse clicking for me. I wanted something very simple and found it with Bandicam. It is a video capture app with lots of features, small file sizes and can even show the frame rate. Easy one click start/stop. The free version has all the features less:

10 min per video limit - registered is unlimited
watermark added - registered no watermark

It also works with Windows XP, Vista, 7/8/10 (Support for 32/64-bit). I thought to pass the info along which will come in handy for Beta testing. I'm also just a customer with no association with the company.

Regards

I use it and it works OK for me. Apparently it is not as hip and trendy as it should be; which is why my you-tube stuff dose not get the ratings. Well that's according to the teenage consumer that infests one of the rooms in my house. As I said: It does what it says on the tin and if you don't mind the 10 minute limit and the name at the top of the screen, it is great.

OBS is completely free and works well.
I tried this on my laptop; which is what I use to play the game and it just slowed everything down, too much to play. Yes i would say it is great, if you have lots of spare CPU, RAM and GPU power, but if you are on a budget, then it kills the computer.

OBS has some of the lowest capture overhead out there (at least with a single GPU) and the encoder options are highly customizable.

I had issues every time I used it and then I found Bandicam and have used it ever since.

I have seen OBS used on a better PC and I agree, it works very well.

Just figured out how easy it is to setup a webcam selfie in Bandicam inserting your face with A/V in a corner while recording the game with few mouse clicks. You get to pick where. Of course one has to deal with the webcam, lighting, mic etc in Windows then tell the app what you are using and it simply connects. Excellent for providing commentary on a Beta ticket issue. Not that I would do it with my mug. Good grief I don't want to scare anyone! :)
