Hi guys.
I have an AMD 7950, latest drivers, and I have a quite strange problem with symptoms never seen before (at least not in my PC).
I get to load and configure settings in the main menu, also I can start a new game, choosing my starting ship, but as soon as the “wireframe ship rotating” screen starts the video card shuts down. What does this mean? Basically both monitors enter in sleep mode and video card fan slows down to hibernate status. I can’t recover from that state and need to shutdown the computer removing the plug.
It’s my main PC and I’ve tried a couple of games after seen this problem (Far Cry 3, Heartstone) with no issues at all, which leads me to think that it’s not a card or power issue. I’ve been monitoring fan speeds and temperature until the moment it freezes and there are no spikes or high temperatures at all.
Any ideas guys?
PS: This happens both in the full game and in the Single Player test.
