Hi All,

Thanks to this post on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/3v3xhi/anaconda_leaves_9km_deep_ice_canyon/ For finding an awesome planet to explore.

I have made this video of a full approach and landing in a deep, deep ice canyon (with some rover exploration as well). This is for you guys with no beta access!

So i went back to the game and it's day time. Also apparently your ship can perform a Hot Pickup, check out the video. I also die in the SRV (tried to jump a canyon)

The feeling of approaching and landing is awesome. One day we'll exit our spacecraft as well... can't wait. (Lighting in this game is spectacular, really becomes something in a deep dark canyon)

One thing that bug me since the horizon beta though is that : ship's light is far too weak even compared to the small srv that would be cool to have a two position light like in the scarab and having far more powerfull light.

Have you tried dismissing the ship and seeing if you can call it back? It would be interesting to see if the AI is good enough to manage this.

I came back to the save game and it's day time now. I was curious about this so I made another video (added it to the first post). It's better than i expected. Apparently your ship is smart enough to perform a "Hot Pickup" if it can't find an appropriate place to land. Check it out
