Powerplay Video Displaying how Fun and Engaging Open Power Play is For Pilots of All Skill Levels!

The inability to find haulers, and provoke PvP responses, are a major preventative factor for these kinds of engagements.

fights like this often involve merit farmers. If you note, we only just barely missed taking out a fully loaded Federal hauler. When our boys died/respawned, they also began patrolling Supercruise again for more haulers. So, actually, these kinds of engagements quite often result in merit losses well into the thousands, and even tens of thousands, for one side or the other.

Can you please explain your reasoning for that...? More people in Open = more people to shoot at = more hostile action reports = more PvP.

I don't want to put words in the man's mouth, but I'm pretty sure losing millions of credits in rebuy and fast-tracked mertis wasn't on CMDR Brant's agenda for the evening...

It's going to be a LOT of fun for me!

All well in good except even with OOPP you're still only get those who actually want ship combat PvP. Those who don't won't participate in PP, simple as that. Those hauler targets you seek? Most of those that are currently in solo/private won't exist because they'll have dropped PP rather than play in open - the lure of PP won't be sufficient for them to engage in PvP that they have no interest in. IMO.

The people who currently do powerplay in solo and will quit are not the targets we seek. The people who this change will bring are those that want to do powerplay in open but currently don't because the other side just hauls in solo/pg and makes the whole scenario completely unfair.

that's kinda the point. people gaming the system in either solo/PG will have to come to open or find something else to do.

I spent over a year pledged when PP first rolled out. Spent quite a bit of time working for Uncle Li - in open, private and solo depending on my mood. Exactly how it was intended - allowing me to choose how I wanted to play it. I rarely see other players in open when I'm there. I gave up PP though not because of the mechanics or PvP but because it took so much of my available play time just to maintain rank that I found I wasn't actually playing the game I wanted to play. OOPP ain't going to change that.

But those are the very players people wish to be able to oppose right now. Instead of opposing them with PP activities per the design, it is insisted that they be forced to accept PvP or stop playing PP. Many will choose the latter. Have fun with the state of PP that will remain.

I don't care about players that play in solo/pg. I couldn't interact with them before so it means nothing if they quit now. Powerplay cannot get worse by getting rid of these people dragging down a game mode meant to facilitate pvp.

Do you Power Play?

I do, and I haul in Open in a 720 cargo moderately engineered Cutter. Chain interdictions by murdervette wings with their fsd reboot thingy's and guns that ignore shields...they are annoyances and not any real threat.

To put some perspective, especially if they decide to go all fort incoming, lets say that 500,000 tons are hauled, over 70 full Cutters would have to be destroyed to reduce the haul by only 10%.

Ah, lol. Yeah I kill murdervettes with their guns that ignore shields :) I think you'd find my friends and I quite a bit more threatening than whoever you're dealing with (not to sound like a pretentious , but I mean come on, who ganks haulers in a Vette lol...), and the gang sort of has a history of effective PP disruption.
