[VIDEO] First time ED with HOTAS - TrackIR - TrippleHead - Could also need some hints

Hello everyone! I was a little bored today and thought I'll make a video of me sucking at ED :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEOq1w4XmJ4

I just joined ED yesterday and weren't able to fly at all with mouse. Works a lot better with the Joystick.

Maybe you can give me some hints on how to improve. Hehe. I also don't get the Multiplayer. What am I supposed to do there? All I accomplished was crashing into an Space Station and exploding. And shooting "something" and getting an bounty on my head. ;)

Still had great fun already!

And also: Hello ED Community, here I am ready to takeoff! =)

It is impossible to suggest you anything as your head obscures everything in this video.:D

As for MP you can travel to different locations and earn money there. E.g. you can answer Federal Distress Signal or enter the combat in low/high intensity zones. Beware that before engaging other ships you need to select the faction using right UI panel, otherwise you won't receive any rewards.

You can travel to extraction sites in the asteroids and choose the way you want to play, you can become are pirate or a bounty hunter (no need to select factions), simply act accordingly.

I'd recommend you check out some of the livestreams people have up while they play and you can ask questions there and the streamers will show you some things based on what they're doing. http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Elite: Dangerous

I've been streaming for a few days and though I'm still fairly new, I can give you some pointers on making some money with combat as that's mostly all I do. Also many of the guys that have been hanging out in the chat watching the stream have been very knowledgeable and helpful. I stream under the user JB_Hazed and will likely put my stream back online tonight around 8PM est if you want to hang out and chat.

Hi Tronnic, and welcome to the forums. :)

Take your time working through the single combat scenarios, and try to get used to using lateral/vertical thrust and switching 'Flight Assist' (FA) off and on.

Your turning ability is maximised when your throttle is set in the 'blue zone' on your indicator.

Apart from that, shuffling power between systems, engines and weapons is pretty important.

Mainly just stick with it, you'll get there.

Nice set up you've got btw!

Thanks for your answers! ;) Yea I saw some streams already. Still have to figure out how to exactly control my ship at all :D

Thanks for the video.

I'm interested as to how your system coped driving THREE 27" Monitors. I heard that SLI support is not yet implemented. Does this effect the game performance from what you experienced?

Hi! Currently I have set my GPU's to use 1 for Video Rendering and 1 for PhysX so basically not really SLI at the moment. I'm running at flawless 55-60 FPS with VSync off. With VSync on my FPS is at 35ish. All settings maxed out.

GPU Load is 80-100% ingame. Video RAM is between 1,3 and 1,5GB.
CPU is at about 20-40% on 4 Cores.
