I literally don't want to play anything. Unfortunately, I don't have anything else to do at the moment, so I am just sitting here....

Anyone else?

Considering checking out the new Tom Clancy series on Amazon, although just heading off 'over the horizon' for three weeks for work and am tempted to put a ship on the Gnosis just to see what I log into the last week of september.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Plenty of other hobbies out there. :D Sounds like you just need a change of pace. Try something else out for awhile.

Hi,

I have these periods too. For me it is coming in every August and December, year by year. During these times it is very hard for me to find something to pass the time. On PC, the only game I can play is Pinball Extreme, for an hour/day, nothing else. When I start to play a more complicated game, I get angry and can't concentrate.

I try to survive these times, find some very simple and relaxing ways to pass the time. I quite often just lay down in a darkened room, and listen to some chill-out music... I try to accept, that I have these periods, when I need to rest more, than usually, and try not to get angry about this (sometimes it is very hard, but I try to do my best).

This summer, my favourite radio channel is this, it helped me a lot in these hard times:

Funny, but the only tv show I'm enjoying now is Twin Peaks season 3. Don't ask me, why, but it works for me. I know, I have unusual taste :) . Earlier, I watched Don Matteo (just to have some contrast :) ), worked for me very well during last winter (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0178132/).

I wish you to find your way to go trough this "burnout phase"!

I go through these stages, from time to time, as well. Usually take about a week.

I blame general tiredness for them. I try to use it as kind of a vacation. I sleep a little more, tend to my precious half a little more, organizing a movie night or something. Or go out for a day, taking my RC helicopters for a spin, especially in summer (I don't go out, much, otherwise)
There's plenty to do. Don't force it.

In over 30 years of gaming i've never had this. Sure some days i prefer to do something other than gaming (mow the lawn, paint the fence etc!), but in general i'm always having to make a choice over what game i do want to play. Maybe it is about the types of game you like, or something else about life in general? Variety is the spice of life they say, and i tend to agree :)

Any really old games to revisit?

I keep Morrowind handy for this reason. If you don't have the game, I'd highly recommend it. Obviously modern PC's are total overkill for it. I basically have no loading screens. :p

get out, do something else, go to the beach, take the dog for a walk, talk to the wife/GF..... feed the ducks??

When I ran out of interest in PC games in 2013 with a Steam library full of hundreds of games, I got myself a PS2 (still sold new back then) and started thrifting for discs. That was a strange new world to explore. When I exhausted the platform few years later, I "upgraded" to a PS3 and played Read Dead Redemption first. That was a welcome change.

Then do something different. Is there anything that you enjoy doing? Something you have wanted to try, but haven't had the time? Well, now you have the time.

I go through those phases when I'm particularly driven to insomnia by persistent flashbacks and PTSD every time I close my eyes...I'm in one now where if I fire up a game, I'm bored and flicking to another within 5 minutes. Last night after an abortive attempt to peak my interest, I ended up trolling through YouTube randomly...and came across one of the most beautiful renditions of a song I have ever heard...strangely enough... on 'The Voice' talent show which I've never watched....

The vid is from The Voice-Poland...I can't speak a complete phrase in Polish BTW, although the song was sung in English...I'd have loved to have the judges comments translated..they were in tears of emotion as much as I was...completely and utterly beautiful. I'd never heard of the singer, Dorota Osińska...but I certainly have now [yesnod]

I wish, I could sing out my sorrow like this... [cry]

One of my preferred songs for this mood:
