I just posted a quick guide to on foot player-to-player material trading.
Apparently, as I had multiple people asking.Oh dear Lord. Do people need to be shown how to do that?
Then you wouldn't get to meet up with dodgy people though! This is much easier to do with carriers. You don't have to meet, you don't have to instance. Just charge them an arm and a leg for it (which doesn't exist in ED because CRs are peanuts).
A lot of people here keep asking for player-to-player material trading in Odyssey while it already seems possible. Looks like I am not the only one who didn't know you can actually drop materials (and someone else can pick them up). Like I always say: You learn something new every day.Apparently, as I had multiple people asking.
Spoken like someone that hasn't done it.Addendum: The only trading I have done so far is have poeple come to my carrier giving away surplus engineer unlocks for low prices (basically for free), but that always involved them visiting my carrier and me having to put up a sell order once they are there. Just meeting up and throwing stuff on the floor seems much more convenient.
done the carrier trading or the "throwing on the floor" part? The former I did definitely, the latter I just stated I didn't know it was possible, so of course I didn't do itSpoken like someone that hasn't done it.![]()

floors are dangerous. Recently the floor of my carrier hangar had given way so much that I couldn't get to the elevator. Because apparently I cannot step over a 20 cm ledge, nor jump in the carrier. The throwing on the floor part. If the floor doesn't eat it first.
Oh dear Lord. Do people need to be shown how to do that?
1. Make sure you test the surface of your trade location with something expendable before you go tossing your SDPs into the terrain. Yes, some poor commander I was trying to gift SDPs to did not receive it because the ground ate it.
2. This is much easier to do with carriers. You don't have to meet, you don't have to instance. Just charge them an arm and a leg for it (which doesn't exist in ED because CRs are peanuts).
