Thanks nutter really helpful guide.

A quick few questions if I may - my fastest routes thing doesn't appear to work, it always seems to regress to economical routes any suggestions why this may be.

also how do you select which planets to explore. I generally head out to a point 100ly away and scan everything around..... is there any science to guessing what may have the high value metalic planets or black holes?

also a tip for beginner explorers like me if you basic discovery scanner picks nothing up but there is a sb _ 500 + ly away head to the sb scan again - :) bingo usually a metalic planet/system

Hi Nightskiss,

If you are getting issues like you are experiencing then they tend to be 'local' as mine works OK.
So whenever you have local issues - no matter what software, the best course of action is to uninstall the software, delete any related folders. then re-install. I know it sounds extreme but you will benefit from a 'clean install' with clean config and log files.

As for the exploring videos will come as soon as I get chance, I may get time to record the next video tonight, which will cover actual exploring a system lol - I know I've not even left the dock yet hehe.

For now, use the system map to point you towards interesting looking planets and gas giants. White planets and moons (Rocky or Icey) generally pay poor with the odd exception so avoid scanning them for now.

Also, there is TONNES of information from the exploring community in THIS post
