Honestly, the way VO mining's been for the last 6 months, you'd think inflation in the ED universe would make Venezuela look like an attractive retirement destination.

If you're doing that by clearing your save, you already reached end-game. If you're doing it fresh from never having played, you don't want to play anyhow. You just want to end the game. It's fine to have an exit door.

A better question would be how long does it take for new players to lose and Anaconda? Most get one thinking its invincible factory fresh, and lose it in about 60 seconds.

Even the Cutter is easy to get hold of. The Corvette, on the other hand, is proper horrible grinding, unless you know how to fill up your cargo with desired thingies and visit stations being rebuilt after the Thargoids have slimed them.
