A video I put together of the recent BD+03 2338 community goal; mostly to learn some basics in After Effects and Premiere.

A thought, though. Wouldn't it be cool if there were large 'carrier' type capital ships you could properly launch/dock and re-arm from?

I noticed while flying around the imperial capital ship it has doors and hatches everywhere. It even has working air shields you can fly through into a hangar big enough to squeeze in an Asp. Unfortunately they didn't offer me any landing spots so I had to reverse back out. I figure we'll be able to dock with capital ships eventually, for mid-battle rearm and repairs in the most contested conflict zones.

I'm hopeful that Frontier will add a wider variety of capital ships to the major factions. There already appears to be mention of other types of capital ships existing out there - for example the description of the Anaconda and Python both indicate there are cruiser and frigate classed vessels out there as well, so a carrier might not be out of the question.

I'm confident that war will eventually occur between 2 or all of the major factions, in which case we'll see a military buildup and perhaps the deployment of a variety of capital ships.

Yeah, I noticed the same with Fed Interdictor in Sol. It also has a little bay underside toward the rear of ship. That's what gave me the idea to make the video - like a fighter being launched into battle from a capital ship a la Battlestar Galactica.

It's a little easier when you have Mumma Ship bristling with heavy artillery to soften targets for you
