[Video] More than one way to kill a 'Conda

Nice video Sam (not to mention a nice haul!!). How did you flick between different sub systems when targetting though?

There's a target next/previous subsystem keybinding, I have them mapped to the mouse wheel on the back of my X52 Pro throttle

Ahhh excellent, knew there was a target next / previous but didn't realise you could do that with the sub-systems! Thanks :)

Great Vid

I have been using the long range system with gimballed multi cannons. It works great and very satisfying seeing the Anaconda spew the entirety of its cargo into space. Have found cargo scooping very tricky at times, will try your method as it seems to be most effective.

Happy hunting.

Nice work. Though they need to make Anacondas definatley need to be much harder targets.

I am not sure they do need to be toughened up, I would expect an Anaconda to have a fighter escort. None of those tactics would be easy with a couple of sidewinders attacking me.

Well not that much stronger. But i think ONE fighter being able to take down that big ship should be a decent bit harder. Requiring at least 2 people

But actually now that i look at it. It seems like there is a bug. You can see many of the lazers are not hitting you accurately at all. Sometimes shooting in the opposite direction. So i guess once that gets fixed and the weapons do infact hit you most of the time. It will be alot harder

What you are seeing is actually a fix from back in 1.0.

Initially when we came up against the Anaconda they had perfect aim with that beam laser and there were lots of player complaints. As such FD have made it so that if you move around a lot or are at very long range the ship struggles to hit you.

I think they need to find a happy medium between the current state and the previous perfect gunner.

It isn't a dog fighting ship so its completely defended by turrets and the skill of the commander. Those Anacondas are still pretty vicious compared to the other mining craft and that's just the NPCs. Once you go up against a human piloting one of those things with his preferred load out it's bound to be tough.

Besides its easy to say that after watching a video of Commander Sam showing his practiced skills and strategic load out ;) See what happens when some ham fisted chancer makes an attempt.

He He, Love it ZeeWolf. What are you using for head tracking. I am still having no luck with my FaceTrackNoir... :(

If FD are planning on different sized fighters fitting an actual role, rather than just being Level 1, Level 2, etc, then it would make perfect sense than a Cobra can take out an Anaconda.

Sidewinders would be the superiority role (fighter vs fighter), while the Cobra would be the multi-role (bomber/fighter cross-bread).

I agree, an Anaconda is not a combat craft. It is designed for carrying cargo not combat. A well equipped Cobra should be able to kill an Anaconda. This game is not bigger = better. Each ship has a role. In game I am aiming to own an Anaconda and I would not go any where with a large cargo with out a loyal escort.
