I have a mining Anaconda atm using 6 collectors and 2 lasers I know I can fire 2 c2 mining lasers with no drain, anyone got numbers on how long I can run 5 on the C rated PD?
The more lasers added, the more it drains the system. I feel 5 lasers is a good way to deplete a rock in two shots, but four lasers is just as good if you wave them about a bit on the target, and the extra duration of having one laser less is not a bad compromise, especially because you'll have to wait for the collectors to get the bits anyway. With a cutter it might be worth trying 6 lasers, but again its the collectors which eat away the time waiting.
Turn your collector controller on/off. Destroys all your active collectors, then redeploy. A better way of getting rid of limpets from your hold.
Tip of the WEEK!! Thats great advice. If I take less limpets into the field I might run out of them if I miscalculate, but that method will save a lot of time and hassle, and free up space quickly.
I routinely use 15 collectors on my Conda with 3 class 2 lasers. So I don't find your build too extreme, though 5 lasers is pretty cool. I did try 20 collectors and 4 lasers, which was great fun, though the lasers ran out of power too quickly.
I did consider calling this EXTREME mining, but as someone could have 7 lasers and 20 collectors it didnt seem to warrant the title, so I called it Turbo Mining instead. Yes its isnt so extreme but it looks like it is with 5 lasers. The sound of those things firing is enough to put a grim on my face.
