Heya,

So I thought I would share with the community something I've only recently, and embarrassingly, caught on to with regards correct colour display on 1080p monitors. We spend hundreds, perhaps thousands on equipment and are let down by a cable. Hey HDMI, DVI, and Display Port are digital right, should all work fine.. Not so :(

This issue is likely only going to affect you if you are using a HDMI cable. Long story short, you should be using a DVI cable (or display port) to get the best results from your monitor. Its perhaps more of an issue with Nvidia cards but I found that my blacks weren't really black but rather a washed out grey look.

The following article explains it well with some work arounds, which can work with a HDMI cable, and is interesting reading: https://pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/

Hope that helps. :)

Using DVI to HDMI cable & Sony FullHD TV, and... what you know, it does help!

Thank you.

The Lagom LCD test 'result' improved from entries 1-15 being the same as background to seeing different shades of grey in all squares, only entry 1 indistinguishable from the black background.
