View of the Galaxy

Anyone know what the closest or easiest planet is to get a birds eye view of the whole milky-way? I'm in an Anaconda by the way so long distance travel ain't an issue.
Thanks

Why does everyone always go above? why not below?
Below is good. Bad timing, but an expedition is going through a few of the "lowest" systems near sol (we're currently around 2.5k below). OP has a list of systems, the ones between the red systems all have nice views, and the linked post has routes to one of them (though it's quite boring as systems go). Thread is also worth a look for an idea of the views. As others have said, you can get lower/higher if you go to the core.

I'd say from the core (Sag A*). Go all the way up until you can't go any further.

Yep:

When you open the Galaxy map it defualts to "above" so easier to plot "above" than to adjust it to below each time, path of least resistance, if you don't consciously think about it.

Doesn't the map default to whatever system you are in at the moment? If i go exploring, im going down, going above is overrated.
