VIP Pass are being removed

Hey guys,

So I just read that VIP passes will be removed. I've been waiting for more information on how these will work, but still have not received any additional information over that which has been there for the past 6 months.

I would like to know the following:

- Wil there be some sort of a guest creator in game, even a very minimal one?
(If so, I guess the difference is that VIP will be vissible in everyones park)

- Will I be able to edit the looks of the guests later on?

- Will there be a staff editor in game? Even if it's only names I'm happy.

These are the first questions which come to mind, if anyone has any other questions feel free to post them. If anyone has any answers to these questions feel free to post them as well.
If you have an answer to the questions, I would be happy if you could provide me with a source so I can check it out.

I think the are just being removed from the store not the actual game. But when we get information on them I'm sure people who bought them well be able to use them in game.

We will have more details about how the VIP creator and avatars will work soon. While the items will no longer be able to purchase from the 25th, people who have purchased an item will still get it by launch. Thanks! [yesnod]

But Brett. Are the team serious to stop the vip tickets sale without any information on this? Why you not just show us all info about it so everyone can decide before buying? It's like a money trap. Paying for something without knowing anything on this. It's not same like early bird. Before buying early bird we all know before starting alpha how the game will look like and feel like. But now I feel helpless.

So if the team are estimates us the community they should rethinking the removing of VIP tickets!

But if it's a technically decision that they have to remove it now, then they should give us all information about now!

I felt $30 was a great price for PC and I was thinking about buying a VIP pass, but now that extra $15 has to go to the thrillseeker edition and I cant really decide so... I think Im going to miss out on all these silly little extras which kinda sucks but I cant see the price being worth it at this point [downcast] it would be nice if you guys gave a little more time... I wonder how many more of these "exclusive items" you will have in the future

also, the golden mascot better not prevent me from loading/visiting other players parks

Creaper are you not an alpha player? If so you will get thrill seekers addition I believe, or at least the benefits of the edition. I read that it was a thank you for the feedback over the last few months.

well they said that anybody who pre-oders by aug 25 will get the thrillseeker [cool]
i still think the vip pass should stay up another week or 2 so we can find out how it works first

The VIP ticket is an in-game product which allows players access to the Guest Designer.

Tools like the Guest designer work in every game, where you can create a character (or a car or whatelse) the same way:

You choose if you want to be a female or male (or maybe something between that)
Then you choose your look (face, colour of skin, hairstyle and color, beard for male characters, clothes, extras (sunglasses etc.).

As a special option you can visit as your avatar your own parks and other people s park. And you get a golden hat.

What did you expect from this tool? If you want to give your parks a personal note buy it, otherwise leave it.

really? ive played a lot of games in my life, there are many variables to a character designer vs a guest designer, few are identical... staff pass is pretty expensive to not know what one is getting exactly

From the Frontier Store for the VIP Staff Pass.

"Join the staff at Planet Coaster. You can never be fired, but positions are limited! By joining Planet Coaster’s staff you’ll have a permanent role as a member of the coaster parks’ staff in-game, with access to the Guest Designer to create the perfect in-game character. You will be a staff member in your own Planet Coaster parks and in parks from all over the world."

I would take that as you should have access to choose your staff position/job with the ability to make that staff member look like you want then to be. As a staff member your character would then be put into a uniform for the job/position that you selected.

From the Frontier Store for the VIP Group Ticket

"Bring your friends and family to Planet Coaster as park guests! With a Group ticket you and your group will become park guests in-game, with your own group name and access to the Guest Designer to create the perfect in-game characters.

Your group will be visitors in your own Planet Coaster parks and in parks from all over the world, travelling the world together and moving as a group in-game."

A group of 2-6 people, each one should have full customization available, within the limits of the guest editor.

VIP Single Ticket

"Be part of Planet Coaster as a park guest! With a Single ticket you’ll become a park guest in-game, with access to the Guest Designer to create the perfect in-game character. You will be a visitor in your own Planet Coaster parks and in parks from all over the world."

Your in game avatar with full customization available, within the limits of the guest editor.

Thanks for your reactions guys.
Maybe the livestreams will give me more information on the subject.

Yeah I can read all that from the store pages, and I think what you are saying is correct, but...
I guess I just find it hard to believe there won't be a guest editor in game if you don't pay for the VIP tickets, that's why I am curious about the subject.

thats not how this works... there WILL be a guest editor in the game... VIP is not a "guest editor" its just to have your name placed in the game as a guest for every copy around the world. not same thing as a personalized avatar creator which will be in the game... and I know there are a lot of people confused by this so when people say "just read this blah blah" they dont understand why we are asking... frontier really wasnt very clear on that which is why the staff pass is crazy, wish i had money to toss around like that

This is finally some sort of the answer I was looking for, thanks haha.
It's fun to have your custom avatar(s) walking around in everyones copy of the game though, chances are I will at least get me a single VIP ticket in that case.

Creaper I think you're totally wrong here ...

The Guest Designer will only available with VIP-Status. Frontier never says that there is a guest editor inside Planet Coaster.

Ill agree with you that it has neither been confirmed or denied. But I have posted about this in a dozen different threads and I still wish we had more answers... however, I do believe there will be an in-game guest editor for all standard copies of the game. VIP status is for you to have a copy of your guest appear as a "random person" in each copy of everybodys game.

I take this to mean that: If you do not purchase VIP, your "standard" guest will only show up in your park. Im also pretty sure that multiplayer features are planned (but for some reason this is top secret and I shouldnt be telling you) [wink]

I was told that PC will have a guest editor just like RCT3, meaning VIP passes are not what many people think. If VIP was the only way to access the guest editor, ever, many people would be a bit upset about not buying them when we had the chance.
Thats why VIP is a limited time thing, they have to finish them before the full release [up]

Sorry Spanky but it doesn't say that you get exclusive access to the Guest Designer, it just says access. Besides, even if it did, it wouldn't necessarily be true: the CHC is sold as having exclusive developer Q&As and Behind the Scenes Access but every single thing that the CHC get is also given to the public a few days later. I believe creaper is right, eventually everyone will get the guest designer if there is one, so they need to give information about the VIP tickets and their extortionate prices if they really want to make some more sales.

If I have purchased a standard edition of the game, will I still be able to get access to the thrillseeker edition at launch? or do I need to buy the early bird edition?

You will get all the extra's that the Thrillseeker edition offers, including Beta access [happy]

No need to purchase early bird... unless you really want to of course... its only available until 25 August #justsaying
