Viper and secondary fire group issue

So I have my primary lasers set to fire group 1 and my multi cannons to group 2. They wont fire on group 2? I have to set them to group 1 to have them fire? Ideas?

Don't forget the difference between primary and secondary fire, and fire groups. You should have lasers as primary fire in group 1, and multicannons as secondary fire also in group 1. A separate firegroup needs to be swapped to manually with the next / previous fire group key, and then you will have a new set of primary and secondary fire in there (usually for things like shield cells, discovery scanners, and the like).
