I've been experimenting with Twitch (and hence apologies in advance for the fact I'm perched in the corner of the screen on webcam grimacing a lot!) the last couple of days and someone mentioned to me that they would find a video where I show my method of killing Anacondas helpful. Thought I might as well throw it up here for those that are interested since from lurking it seems to be a topic that comes around a lot!
I am currently a Viper pilot that specialises in combat, but I like to maintain versatility using things such as fuel scoops, point defence and KWS. As such I don't use chaff or shield cells. I do however use reflective armour since I find it tends to be lasers I take damage from, and I do take a little damage in the video. Nothing to be alarmed about - the repair cost is generally between 1 and 2k. Throw in another 1k for ammo and I'd say my full bill for taking down one of these mighty opponents is around 3k - generally significantly less expensive than the shield cell/chaff/dumbfire type approaches I see a lot of players using.
I'm aware I tend to speak to fast, so if anyone would like me to explain in more detail anything I explain in the video just ask! One thing that gets obscured by the aforementioned webcam is the power distro. I do mention in the video but for avoidance of confusion I tend to use 2 pips to system, 4 pips to weapons. Occasionally dropping 1 pip into engines if I need to rebuild a boost to close the gap quickly.
