So what would you guys consider the best medium sized combat ship? I am looking for something that can take punishment, has at least two top mounted hardpoints (for turrets), and reasonable maneuverability. I was thinking the Asp but some have said its an easy target, and I dont believe it has top mounted hardpoints.
Viper, Sidewinder, and Cobra aside, best medium size combat ship?

Python is unbeatable when considering sheer firepower. If you want speed, then the Asp is your best bet. Overall the Python is the top of the medium-spec food chain.
I fly a fully upgraded asp and yup it's a beast. but out of your selection i would say cobra (it used to be the viper, but after the speed/manoeuvrability nerf...)
The cobra can be slung around and you can top mount medium weapons. all of my ships have been got through bounty hunting, so as a flyer once upgraded you can take on larger prey with it.

In my opinion the Python is the best fighter in the current game.
Mind you that could change in the next patch, when we get 2 new ships.

The OP was asking about the sidewinder, the viper and the cobra though and yes while the python is a shmexy beasty.....it's a tad more expensive that the three they were asking about.

Hes not asking about the ships hes named hes asking about the rest. There are only 3 options asp, clipper and the python but to answer him the python is the best.
