Virtual desktop - vital Rift companion tool

I'm probably the last person to hear about this, but in case anyone else hasn't, there is a tool called Virtual Desktop that allows you to view your desktop in a 3D, rift-friendly way.

Sick of lifting the rift, wearing out your arm holding it up while you one-handedly administrate your desktop? Give it a try!

It's free and can be downloaded here:

Don't give me any rep for this, wheatgrinder brought it to my attention in this post: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=132901&p=2077352&viewfull=1#post2077352

Give him rep please.

Yep, know it and that's an essential tool to have. Launch it, turn off your main monitor, and you can do nearly all you usually do with your monitor, including launching your favorite browser and watching youtube video on giant screen. Pretty cool. I dream about a similar system emulating several virtual monitor instead of just one: one to the left, center, right up, etc. or a bigger one, virtually with endless resolution, with zoom on the mouse wheel.

Nice idea!

I'm just glad I can consider actually using some of the ED tools that are out there now. Any ideas of tools I've overlooked in my disinterest due to the alt-tab nightmare I just woke from?

I used this before, but noticed a frame rate drop. Maybe it's better now.

It doesn't operate when the game is running. It suspends and resumes when you alt-tab, so no performance hit. Not sure if it didn't used to be like that, but yeah, if it didn't then there would have been a massive performance hit
