Virtual desktop

Just downloaded and trying VirtuaWin http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/

Trying out VirtuaWin software, to game with Elite dangerous & Voice attack, VR Oculus Rift users are mostly likely using something like this http://www.vrdesktop.net/ already. I'm not running any VR.

I have Voice Attack setup to switch between the 2 virtual desktops One for ED , other for 3rd party apps like VA and browser , the idea been to see if this improves game play (flow) instead of alt-tabbing , which if I'm running RegulatedNoise https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=137732 and a browser (sometimes for system information ) with VA, it gets messy as I have only one screen.

What Ive noticed already is the switching between desktops, using VA is very smooth, yet to test this in game, given I'm not using any VR, wondering is there's any real benefit , other than the smoothness in switching and having the extra screen space to see all that's running

So if anyone is using a Virtual desktop any thoughts ?

Update , after trying in game , it is easier to switch from Elite full-screen to the second desktop via Hotkeys where VA other third party apps are.

There is one problem, which I'm sure can be sorted via VirtuaWin setting, I hope ( there are numerous setting in VirtuaWin , the terminology are new to me, as Ive never used a virtual desktop before ) that is after switching too Elite full-screen, the Elite window looses focus and drops to desktop as soon as I've clicked in-game. After Clicking again I'm back in game , and the game mouse icon is there.

The idea of course is to be able to use Voice attack, or the Hotkeys to switch between desktops and have whatever window I select hold that focus, I don't even know if this is possible.

Looking at sourgeforge VirtuaWin forums https://sourceforge.net/p/virtuawin/discussion/257054/thread/3e5606df/#b1a6 for a solution that when switching from one VirtuaWin desktop to another VirtuaWin desktop that's running a full-screen application like Elite dangerous, the window focus is "complete" and there is no dropping to desktop first.
