So when you spell names, do you say "E R A N I N" or "Spell E R A N I N" ?
If you wanrt to use the "+" sign without space infront, you have to use the spelling function right?
Using the software that I use, I am usually in "normal mode", which is a mixture of dictation and voice commands.
First I say the following, after having selected the search bar:
"Switch to spelling mode." (no longer "normal mode")
"Echo, Romeo, Alpha, November, India, November" (I work with helicopters in real life, so the language is second nature to me)
press the search button.
I say...
Echo
Romeo
Alpha
November
India
November
But the search engine should be improved, like putting just the first 3 letters we get a list of Systems with those letters
Do you also use Dragon Naturallyspeaking pro?
So that program is like... $600 US. Any suggestions for something cheaper? Is their regular "Dragon" software just as capable?
The normal Dragon can only do dictation, and no macros like voice attack unfortunately. But voice attack can never do dictation in its current form, doesn't even get close to dragon.
Could you not use something along the lines of voice attack ; $8. then create an activation conditional argument with a set vars for each letter - probably qualifying the phonetic alphabet.
i.e. lets say you want to go to Aulin, you first say destination to create the trigger - then Alpha , Uniform , Lima , India , November.
That way the script could be shared between voice attack users.
Just a thought.. In practice I'm not sure how well this would work.
I don't know 100%, but I'm 99% sure you won't be able to write entire sentences and dictate a text message with Voice Attack, no matter how hard you try to work around its handicaps.
Dragon works so well it can perfectly read me saying "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" and renders the result perfectly. I very rarely have to correct it. When I do spell something wrong... f.ex. if it got the last word wrong, and I can correct it by changing the last 4 letters.. I say:
"Backspace four" (backspace is pushed 4 times)
...correct the mistake... using whatever method you deem is best. Spelling is usually best here.
Also, for every sentence to speak up.. you can say "scratch that" to remove the last thing you said, no matter how long it was.
This has made me very conscious about speaking in short dictation sentences, so I can easily remove any one of them.
If I talk without stopping, dragon won't input what I said until I'm done talking. That's because it parses all the stuff you say.
When I've finished "writing" my message, I say
"Transmit message" which basically just presses Enter
I should perhaps record a video of me working with it.
I think the basic Dragon can do the dictation in game, but you need pro for macros?
Unfortunately only the Pro has macros.
