Virtual Keyboard

I'm new to Elite Dangerous and the Oculus Rift but I have to say I was blown away the first time I played it, not experienced anything quite like it and I've played a few games.

One thing I wanted to suggest is that I find I lose where I am on the keyboard (due to wearing the headset) so I fumble about trying to find W and S and the other keys. You have a virtual keyboard in the cockpit so it would be really helpful if the keys I was pressing lit up as I pressed them, would save a lot of panic time.

Welcome Red!

I was having a discussion with a guy on the MW:O forums regarding this the other day. I suggested that the exact experience your having (losing your place on your control method of choice) was a draw-back of the OR or any VR for PC gaming. He responded in a manner not fit for public consumption ;)

This is the exact reason I have not yet purchased an OR. Even though I fly with a HOTAS, I much prefer being able to find my keyboard if I need it, or sip my tea/coffee/hot beverage of choice while in Super-Cruise. It is for this reason I will stick with my TrackIr5 and G940 for the time being... :)

As to your suggestion... I don't think so. I don't want my interface cluttered with something that is custom built for a third party peripheral, that isn't even commercially available/viable yet.

See you in the 'verse
