This^^ I think it was intended for all ships and they just got caught up with other stuff and never added the rest.Only Anaconda has it.
Yep, abandoned feature. This^^ I think it was intended for all ships and they just got caught up with other stuff and never added the rest.
I believe it also had internals modeled for physical damage like projectile travels through and real tracking if it hits reactor. Today is just dice rolls.Basically the Anaconda is the only ship that changes its actual 3d model based on damage, other ships just change textures.
Ya but only enemy for the xboneI remember seeing burn lines on ships from lasers etc - is that still a thing?
Ya clearly it has been intended but like @Pigletslastand said there probably busy., can’t wait for this feature too come back and elite be updated this game is gonna pick up on console again hopefully. And not be so deadYep, landed the conda at that 45g planet. She took a little damage!

You can see shots and laser marks on upper right area. But yeah I've never seen anything like that damage on the Anaconda, only what you see here.
Hahah that d be awesomeYour ship's paint will fade away after a few dozen jumps. Just a texture change, but it looks nice. When I see a ship with bare metal, paint blasted away by stellar winds, I know it's a fellow explorer returning from a long voyage. I used to let it remain like that until I saw a video by Obsidian Ant (?) who said that a poor paint job affected faction-reputation and the tone of communication from a station's flight-traffic controller. Not sure if this is true but if it was Obsidian Ant then I believe him. I like to hear a polite, cheerful FTC welcoming me back after many months in the void.

PS: Fdev, if you're listening then this might be an interesting element to add. Instead of "Always a pleasure to have you with us, commander, we have a landing pad waiting for you. Maintenance crews are standing by," the FTC might say, curtly, (on seeing an unpainted rust-bucket), "Landing Pad 6. Please try to keep it clean."
