Visited system data gone when switching consoles

Been lucky enough to finally secure an Xbox Series X and the game runs amazingly but very sad to see that my visited system data has completely vanished.
Literally says I've been to no systems, I was under the assumption that this data was going to still be present.

No it's stored locally, not on the servers.
If you look at a system you've been to, all the objects will be there. But the 'visited system' map filter data is stored locally.

I thought it must be that, you realise my ocd will now make me revisit as many systems as possible just to get them marked blue again...
Jumps aplenty incoming lol.

So the issue is there is no way to copy that data over to another console. Not sure if that is something that can be fixed but I doubt it will be. I rarely use the filter myself as I rarely visit the same places multiple times (apart from Jameson and Engineers of course). But I understand the ocd side of things, and would prefer it available whenever I do happen to wanna see where I've been. Cant see anything changing this year though when they cant even give us Odyssey on time.

I'm sitting at Jameson in my Asp X whilst looking at Inara which says I've visited 3.5k systems, not a lot by some peoples standards.
I know it shouldn't matter to me that they aren't marked as visited on the Gal map... but it does.
Oh well, at least I get to enjoy jumping through some of these systems again in full 4k with buttery smooth 60fps whilst enjoying no lag or stutter and who knows, I may stumble on something beautiful in an unvisited system on the journey.
As someone famous once said, "I'm going for a walk, I may be a while..."

I'd move the game to an external drive off the old console and then transfer it over to the new one.

There isn't even a need to reinstall the game on the new console once you do.

I did just that and still all gone. Been told elsewhere that visited system data is only stored locally on the console.

I did this from my PS4 Pro to my PS5 but all my data is still gone. It's odd looking at the map saying I've hardly visited anywhere. So same on PlayStation. 😟

At least it lets you view the system maps of those systems.

Did your custom controller key binds transfer... as thats way more important for many players through as that even more a nightmare to do per consoles and per PC service...
