Visiting other people's zoos

Now I'm not totally onboard with how Planet Coaster worked as in you had to download their park through the workshop.

I'd like it if people could just, visit my zoo as a guest (first person view), with unlimited camera control. and that's it.

Without a Planet Zoo's version of thememakers toolkit for now, all assets are already part of the game in everyone's computer so it shouldn't take that long to load someone else's zoo.

If zoo sharing is in the game, its going to be where you download another person's zoo and explore it. It won't be like visiting another person's zoo as a guest.

yea I wish both Planco & Plazoo had various ways of visiting parks. I wish we could lock our parks for people to only view them, but thats not how it works. I wish we could visit each others parks together, in co-op, but sadly we cant :( at least not yet, but maybe in the future

for now though, the best alternative is to make youtube videos. I never download other players parks in Planco cuz my CPU wouldnt beable to have good frame rates on larger parks, so I always just view other players parks on youtube. It works out quite nicely that way IMO

I just want people to visit it and enjoy it like how you would enjoy a real zoo.

I don't want people to click around my piece by piece and messing around with how I built my park (or stealing my self built assets haha). And with reduced functionality on what the visitor can do it could potentially help performance.

isnt that up to the player to decide how they want to explore though? the game is about creative freedom, so if you build a massive park and somebody is checking it out, they will want to dissect it to learn and take inspiration for their own parks. If you dont want them messing with anything, then like I said thats what youtube is for, just make videos

I mean, I get what you are saying, but you gotta make do with what weve got, right?

It hasn't been 100% confirmed that it will work like that, but its safe to assume it will, as that's how planet coaster worked.
You can do that in Planet Coaster, why would they remove the option in Planet Zoo? You can upload your park to the Steam Workshop and others can download it.

you realize thats not what the OP was asking about right?

he was asking if there was a way to lock your park so that when others view it they cant mess with it or change anything

I believe the only way to 'lock' a park is not to share it in the workshop. Sharing pics of your park though would be fun to see.

This is one thing I'm extremely excited for, the ability to send screenshots to the forums. I'm mostly someone who plays on consoles, but got a computer for this game, and I can't wait to send screenshots to others on this forum.

Not exactly what OP was talking about, but as a member of the ZT2 community, it was super fun to see each other’s zoos (people using RR and other downloads, making the zoo as realistic as
possible) and people would make a story to go with it, the history, take the time to talk about the animals they had ect and show photos a few at a time, I loved that :D I hope people do that here too.

I mean, I don’t think we can’t physically go visit someone else’s zoo (like drop down In guest view in other peoples parks unless it’s on the workshop) but we can “visit” through photos and just details about their zoo, maybe people create a story to go along with it, here in the forums, that sort of thing. If you check zoo tycoon the round table, then click on zoos and exhibits, then zoos and aquariums, people go through great lengths to show off their zoo in guest view, it’s normally really detailed parks and they kinda do a show and tell type thing. Some people created stories behind their parks and all

People did this sometimes in Planco too!

I feel like you didnt read my original replies above :(
I already explained the best option for OP is to make youtube videos, thats what 90% of the Planco community has been doing for the past 3 years, because its much easier for people with slower CPUs to view them that way

Yeah, I saw the post about YouTube videos, that’s a good idea too, I was just mentioning something I remembered from other forums in other games.

Most didn’t make videos (some did) but some created a thread. I guess it depends what people want to do! And how they want to show it off :)

It depends on how you want to show off your park, if you’re more into story telling (I don’t mean like let’s plays, that’s different entirely) the forum threads might be better, if you’re more into live show and tells (live meaning things are moving) then videos would certainly be better)

Yea,

breezerHOG already explained what I most likely will have to deal with.
I'm just gonna have to make a kick ass youtube cinematic video then. But I would have loved people to walk around my park for as long as they wanted. But only with the capabilities as a viewer. Oh well :(

Planet Zoo like Planet Coaster, is going to be a single player game, just like The Sims 4. There's no problem with playing single player or downloading other peoples creations and playing with them. Invite some friends over to your place and play the game together. Simulation games tend to be single player.
