Vista Genomics Not Interested in My Weird Stuff?

I think the cute girl at Vista Genomics should be pretty interested in this weird crap I brought back from space.

Oh i forgot. My suggestion:

Include a mechanic that allows us to provide Vista Genomics with the organic samples we collected from stuff floating in space.

Currently Vista Genomics only accepts organic stuff analyzed with the hand held genetic sampler from planet surfaces.

There's a reason for that, stuff on atmospherics planets is only available to players who own Odyssey, whereas stuff in space is available to all players, so Odyssey players would be getting bonus payouts for Horizons content stuff that isn't accessible to Horizons players, I suspect FDEV want to keep the two strictly separate. Mind you we already get bonus payouts for the old Horizons bio so there's an argument there that they can be mixed.....you would need to take this up with FDEV.

Doesn't matter. Vista Genomics is not available to Horizon players. Its a payout only available to Odyssey players. Horizon players can get the samples but can't do anything with them. Well, except sell them for credits of course.

Issue to be resolved would the concept behind ensuring only the gatherer of the samples get the vista genomics reward. The samples would need to be changed to non-tradable materials, like engineering mats instead of regular cargo. Probably why FDev skipped it for now.

It would be nice for giving more purpose to the research limpet controller. And adding a bit to the science/research/exploration part of ED. Taking samples and returning them to a lab feels like "realistic" activity.

You just have to carry it out of the ship for assessment. HTH

Edit: On a more serious note I did suggest when they first floated to Xenobiology Elite rating that it should be more a 'Science' Elite and include the composition scanner (which would cover those things you sampled). They chose not to - fdev typically don't bother retrofitting new stuff into the existing game, and they're unlikely to do it two years later 🤷‍♀️
