Visual improvements I'd like to see

Here are the visual improvements to the game I'd like to see. Hopefully the devs will at least consider it as I think they would really help the sense of realism in the game.

1. Use the real high resolution images of the planets and other bodies in the Sol system. Earth doesn't look much like it should and neither does Mars. Some have noted that Mars has been terraformed but I think that is a bit naff. More likely to be heavily colonised in a 1000 years (this is where the planet landing stuff comes in I guess).

2. Use a better representation of black holes and neutron stars that are consistent with current theories. For black holes I'm thinking of the depictions from the movie Interstellar which Kip Thorne advised on according to current theories.

Neutron stars could also look a lot more dramatic I think even if you forced them (using a little artistic licence) into the visible spectrum. It would be awesome and hair raising to see something like this which again is based on current theories of how these object would look.

Necro posting a bit here, but I wanted to point something out in support of this.
Supposedly, the cockpit glass dims incomming light from stars when close to them, this is so we don't go blind. In this case, I think it is fair to say our cockpit glass should also be able to switch between different light spectrums; eg: microwave, xray, etc. That way FD wouldn't need to take any "artistic licence", they could base it on science and tech instead!

These different cockpit light spectrum modes would add a whole new element to exploring the galaxy.

I agree 100% .. make it more exciting.

Also I would like to see stars being more dynamic and dangerous - Radiation , plumes etc.

It's not considered necro posting if it's linked from a sticky, right? Heheh.

Anyways, I'd just like to point out that that neutron star will be spinning - those huge shafts will be spinning - at anywhere from 3 to 60 or so revolutions per second. Ehh, that's just off the top of my head, a little reading on pulsars from, say, wikipedia will show the true numbers.

If you're looking at the neutron star from a large enough scale, though, then those shafts would become enormous helixes - sort of like a rapidly spinning sprinkler, in some sense, since they're particles emitted from the neutron star's poles.

I don't know how much you can pare it back but that depiction of a black hole took some serious rendering power.
For the neutron stars as t00thPIK said it would be cool if we could switch spectrums to see more of the exotic stuff.
Might be a bit of work for FDev to make though.

Adding my tuppence to this I totally agree and now we have nice looking "landable" planets in horizons would really like to see some love shown to other planet types, especially those in the SOL system.....earth really does look pretty pants up close and it should be an amazing experience to see it from space....cmon who doesn't fly to earth as soon as they get their sol permit in this type of game to have a look at it and see if they can spot their house?!? Also a really nice addition would be auroras on planets to see......

plus I'd like to see some real love given to gas giants so maybe when you get close in they really come to life and you can see cloud structures etc....like how they looked in COSMOS: A SPACE TIME ODYSSEY series.....see pic....though technically that might be pushing it!!

I know there may be technical reasons these things are hard to achieve but with horizons giving us these really nice looking landables I think a buff on other planets should be possible.....especially our home planet!
