Well I hope all those Brexit voters are happy because the Vive just got a £70 price hike here in the UK because of the falling value of the pound. That now makes a Vive £815.69 delivered to your door. Ouch!

HTC continuously monitors and adjusts pricing to ensure we are providing our customers with the best value possible. Due to recent currency valuation changes and the current value of the GBP we are adjusting the price of the HTC Vive in the UK to £759 + P&P. The adjustment will come into effect on Monday 1st August.

Problem is, your statement is only true until you take facts into account. Here's the UK Pound performance over the last year.

A lack of facts caused the majority of the UK to vote for this path. The least you can do is avoid hyperbole now.

Well it's still the old price of £689 right now on the Steam store. The HTC statement said the price rise would come into effect on the 1st of August. I guess the Steam store has just not updated the price yet. So get in there while you can if you were thinking about getting a Vive in the UK and save yourself £70.

The pound is actually quite strong right now and so far as I can see, prices have not changed on the UK stores I'm looking at which is around 700 quid.

Maybe the prices haven't been updated yet...maybe the shop yer buying from has a big front window that can see ye coming from a mile away ^^

Yeah I preorded a 1080 from Amazon when I saw it listed for £599 before Brexit. It's now listed at £750.

It might be worth waiting a while if you are thinking about ordering the Vive. Things are volatile at the moment because in reality it's only been a short while since the referendum. Give it a year and things might get back to normal. George Osbourne predicted a crash and mayhem for the UK economic state. Well, that hasn't happened. Just be patient

Shadragon, accept that a lot of folk made up their minds years ago about the EU. To imply that folk voted Leave due to a "lack of facts" or made up their minds based on a 12 week campaign is just plain wrong.

Blaming everything bad on Brexit is pretty daft.

£815.69 delivered to your door if you buy it from HTC direct. PC world are selling it with free next day delivery for tomorrow for £770. Retailers make plenty from reselling so if HTC had to price match when they make the damn thing and sell it directly then it is down to one of two other things.... They are taking the mickey (greedy) or they have shoved the prices up so people will buy from other retailers (a bit like how games you download cost more from Sony or Xbox than the more expensive to produce physical copy you can by in ASDA).

If people don't like the price increase then they shouldn't buy it and they will lower the prices... supply and demand. The Rift is significantly cheaper than the Vive and even more so right now. People can vote how companies behave with their wallets!

If like Bobbydylan said a 1080 has changed in price by 15% then it is a mickey take. The pound is down but it's recovering and it is probably down 10% on the dollar. The retailer in the UK isn't paying rent or its staff in dollars and is probably paying the supplier 50% of what they resell the goods for.

I'm not saying Brexit isn't increasing the prices of stuff but the increase isn't directly proportional to the value of Sterling.... does anyone seriously think that if the pound doubled in value over night that everything traded in dollars would be 50% less in a few months?
