For it to really take off it needs to run on 2 batteries and come with an extra 2 that can be swapped in use and set to recharge faster than the drain.

Nice... hell yeah! most of us will need a hot-swap battery! :p

I'm actually still okay with the cable, although when Touch comes along it will probably get old fast. Gotta take care of my knees though, so no Hover Junkers for me. Crouch stand crouch stand *crunch*... owww...

Likewise the cable isn't a huge deal for me, but wireless would be ace for room-scale stuff! i'd feel that little bit more immersed

I'm going to need an ammo belt loaded with batteries!

I agree 100%. Games like Hover Junkers and Raw Data while unencumbered by a cord will be a big deal.

Onward is the game I most have to monitor the cable [not overly, as you know it's not that big a deal,] as you really do use all 360deg, but without the cable I'd be moving much more carefree. Half squatting and turning around in that position while staying in cover and trying to view out windows - that sort of thing will *feel* better

Yes but just be careful with all that Lithium Ion in your pockets I give you Samsung or Hoverboards.

I read, that if you order, & state your Vive serial number, you will be given priority dispatch treatment.

What latency does this add though?

The site claims 'no noticeable lag'. Since it's marketing material, I'd take that with a grain of salt, and I believe it will bank on what people deem 'noticeable'. All in all, though, if this is legit it looks like a very nice addition to my extra-elite activities (I have no problems with the cable while flying my can). Space Pirate Trainer and Hollow Point are definitely going to be far more enjoyable that way I suspect.

They are claiming +2ms lag. It's worth noting that this seems to replace the vive breakout box, so it's possible the 'transmission' is quite a bit slower than 2ms, but they're saving time with a more optimal 'breakout box'.
