That shouldn't be too difficult.

rumored to be more expensive but no one knows. price hasn't been announced.

More so, I wager.

It reminds me of the first 3D GPU cards hitting the market in the 90's (they were add-in cards in addition to the standard GPU to which they often connected via a pass-through video cable). 3Dfx Voodoo graphics, PowerVR... good times. :)

Various opinions here

I've already said I think the Vive Pre will be around $1000 USD, possibly $1200 USD, depending on how the OR CV1 sales go, anyone got any numbers on that, because I'm turning up nothing, just lots of stuff about the price both pro and con, and that's it.

Those numbers will have a big influence on what HTC sets their price at, lots of CV1's ordered, that price will be higher, less than 10k CV1s ordered, they may drop it to $800 USD, but I know they'll be taking a hit on their costs at $1000, so going $800 would be a desperation pricing move.

These aren't cheap tech toys, these are very expensive tech toys with a lot of R&D costs to recoup, not to mention the Vive Pre comes with 2 controllers, custom designed and built, that's a few hundred a set easy right there. 2 motion sensors, twice the number of IR points on the HMD as the OR CV1, yeah, HTC dropped some money on those things, it'll be more than the OR CV1.

Okay can we get a statement that this will be supported on day one or we already have? Count me in if plug and play tired of constant fixes.
