Vive Pro Bundle priced at $1400!

Well that is the PRO.

If you are comparing Oculus to Vive, then the normal full Vive kit is $499 i believe...

Yes, but still $900 for couple of new screens and slightly upgraded Deluxe Audio Strap? There is no way to call this fair under any circumstances whatsoever.

Just read this myself and wow!

While I'd love to have one, I'll stick with the $200 Windows Mixer Reality headsets to complement my Rift - I had an awesome time in three player Eagle Flight with my grandkids this weekend :-D

Agreed,
Was not trying to justify that price for the Pro... I ordered a regular vive yesterday, Pro is far too $$$ for me.

I would never put that much money into such a small upgrade over the first generation Rift. That is just crazy.
My Rift still performs fantastic each and every time I strap it on ( pretty much daily).

I will be waiting for a real next gen device, hopefully the Oculus CV2.

Yup it seems a little excessive on price. Then again with the state of HTC I cannot say I'm suprised by the approach, I guess they need all the cash they can get.

Do yourself a favor and cancel/return that order.
Get yourself a Rift instead.
I have both headsets and the Rift is superior in every way(see my post on this forum).
The only thing better on the Vive is the tracking. But Rift tracking is not bad.

C'mon, adding pro to the name didn't suddenly make it worth $1400.

It's new screens and cosmetic improvements. They are still using the same lenses, didn't even change that.

10 x 10 meters tracking space is great.. I wonder if you could buy the tracking as stand alone, i.e. with no headset

Anyone know when the 2nd Gen Oculus is out? Was planning to pull the trigger on the Vive Pro.

No details as of yet.
Not a single bit of real info.

I suspect, and this is purely speculation and armchair punditry.

I think we might get some details later this summer or fall.
Like res, panel types, and tracking solution.
I suspect oculus is looking to go inside out on the positional tracking, no more cameras.
possibly AR support as well.

But I would not expect a cv2 before q2/q3 2019.

One rumor is also they have been seeking patents for tracking gloves with tactile feedback.
Wether this is just long term speculation on their part or actually a product in the works is unknown.

In short, I would say the safe bet is "nothing remotely soon".

Cheers, looks like it's the Vive pro then, am finishing off a dual setup for multi crew, plan is to use the Pro on the setup for friends and family.

Whilst the Pro is expensive, my annual costs have plummeted since moving to VR, I was upgrading multi screens at least once a year, 3 brand new 40" + screens was not cheap. Think I've spent around £900 in total since moving to VR back in 2014

For me the savings have been with games. I haven't bought many games since I got into VR Elite, seeing as there aren't many games that grab my attention these days.
