Vive Seated Tracking Issues

Trying to key in on the Vive tracking for seated gameplay such as with sims (ED included). When I look around, the tracking gets bungled and I end up outside ship or in some odd perspective. Only when I can "recenter" is to cup hands over headset to gray out, then come back usually centered. Do folks with Vives have recommendations for base station setup when seated? I usually have no issues with standing VR such as in Rec Room, thus perhaps its my chair that is throwing things off, or perhaps I have read, my computer monitors? Was thinking of trying base stations on either corner of desk facing at me which may cut out issues with monitors and perhaps chair. Though my wall mounts are currently about 6.5 ft and diagonal into my play space which includes my computer desk.

thoughts?

I mounted one of my lighthouse units so one is above my monitor and looking down.
The chair will then of course occlude the other emitter but as long the one has decent view, it shouldn't have a problem.

Moving the lighthouses around isn't really good cause that would force you to do the full calibration every time.

It sounds like your lighthouse is not getting enough coverage on the Vive's sensors for a good location solution, or the sensors are being obsured on the Vive perhaps. I'd consider moving your lighthouse around. It's doable, I only one run one lighthouse seated, sure it drops out when I look in the opposite direction, but 99% of gameplay I'm only looking at my front 90' degrees.

As others has stated, make sure the lighthouses are level (the can be pointed down, but I have found that they need to be level on the horizontal plane and app 180 degs from each other, and make sure the "play area" for seated is a close to centered as possible.

Lighthouse position is everything for tracking. Seated mine works perfectly about either side of the monitor on the desk about 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock. Facing me exactly. Around arms length away unobstructed. Other places I left them such as on the walls in the play space which my desk is in causes problems.
