Vive with Oculus Runtime?

Hi CMDRs,
I was wondering if there would be any hope of using the Vive with the Oculus runtime to take advantage of ATW.

I hear that people are using hacks to play Oculus exclusives on the Vive.
If they are doing it using some sort of API translator, would this be usable to run Elite with the Vive but using the Oculus runtime?

I have tried Elite in the DK2 with Oculus runtime 1.3 and it is so smooth compared to Vive using SteamVR.
I would prefer to play on the Vive but I love ATW.

"Revive" currently does not support Asyncronous Timewarp. I think the developer mentioned that it may be supported in the future.

hi

oculus titles can be made to run on the VIVE that much is true, however it is not using the oculus run time and features like ATW do not work on the vive when using it, which is why the perforamnce of stuff like say lucky's tale is not as good on the vive as it is on the rift.

steam are working on their on interpretation of it, fingers crossed it will get up to par with ATW quickly

To my knowledge Valve has chosen Interleaved Reprojection, instead of doing something like ATW. If they don't change that, they'll never really be 'on par'.

ATW is better, but requires low-level GPU support to interrupt rendering just-in-time to update the head position.
Reprojection is basically running at 45FPS (after a frame gets dropped) and interpolating the missing frames to reach 90FPS.

Oculus are moving to prevent that in runtime updates.

You're going to be out of luck then.
