VJ New Video Fixed vs Gimballed and Burst vs Sustained DPS

Hey guys, I have a new video out, Gimballed vs Fixed and Burst vs Sustained DPS, and how they relate to each other.

This probably directed more towards newer players, but hope you like it!

Such a good Youtube channel you run for this game... keep up the great work :)

Love your FDL stuff and my fav is the railgun vid!

Thanks mate, appreciate it..

Its funny, cause the railgun video is one of my videos with the most dislikes! XD

Probably because of the ramming. Lots of people (me included) find it a cheap tactic when done deliberately not as a last resort of in a desperate situation, but just to simply overpower the defenses of a lighter ship. Now the video was precisely not about that, heck you rammed Anacondas in an FDL, and it was all very light-hearted and fun, so I have no idea why anyone would downvote it in the first place. (I hope to see more like that, loved the music choice, how the scenes were cut to match the major beats, and the sheets with text, the font and that fast background effect... moar plz :D)

Ehhh. Fixed weapons might be more fun to use and better at shield stripping large targets, but people are kidding themselves if they think they're even in the same league with gimbaled weapons in terms of efficiency and general-purpose killing power. Module sniping is the standard method of quickly disabling and killing large ships, and unless you're using cannons or PAs and can fly incredibly well, fixed weapons just suck in that regard. The increased damage from fixed weapons is pretty negligible -- to the point that their actual DPS is substantially lower than their paper values would suggest unless they're on-target nearly 100% of the time.

LOL, yeah, I dont like Ramming as a tactic in serious combat. But for stuff like this, I think its just fun. I thought people would see the funny side since you have to conserve all your railgun ammo and use other tactics to take down targets.. Oh well.. cant please em all..

I have a couple more ideas for these kinds of videos, I was going to do a type 6 ramming one.. but err.. might re-think that one. lol

It really depends on the pilot.. a good skilled pilot running beams can wreck a powerplant quite fast, and will never be affected by chaff..

PVE I think gimballed is more efficient and effective.. PVP fixed....
