Hardware & Technical VKB Joystick Anyone?

I use the T-rudder mkIII for pedals, and they are excellent, well built and precise. They are also an excellent choice for those using a to-down motion (eg: you use an office chair at a desk).

I was using the VKB Cobra M5 for a while, but it's kinda outdated now. I'm waiting for the Modern Combat Grip (MCG) or space grip to be released before I commit myself to the Gunfighter.

I do have a Virpil Mongoos T-50 on order, though. Currently using a Warthog, but needed a second stick for my second rig, and interchangeable grips are bonus with Virpil (no mods required). I'm looking at getting the VKB though for use as a chopper stick, the dry clutch thing seems to be excellent for helicopters... The VKB pedals are also wonderful - no toe brakes, however...

Now, if you do need toe brakes, There is Slaw, Crosswinds, and also the one I bought, with is hand built by a guy a Sochi.

Baur F3 pedals are awesome, they are super accurate, and the engineering that went into them is beautiful to behold. I opted to buy mine unbuilt, whilst it saves about $50, it also was incredibly enjoyable to put it together (assuming you like that sort of thing) and gave me a true appreciation for the design. It took me about 3 hours to do mine, though most of that was because I mixed up all my screws and bolts, nd spent most of my time hunting for them - having said that, some say it took them 8 hours to assemble, so kinda depends on your proficiency with tools and understanding how things fit together, I guess.

You can, also, order them built. They also offer the WWII style pedals (pictured) or the more modern style pedals (I got both).

Anyways, lots of top choices in sim land these days, and it seems the Warthog has been relegated to "mid range". Which is not a bad thing...

Never heard of Virpil! Just looked them up, looks like good stuff too, especially since they offer a Russian style grip on both right and left handed. Kudos to them... Still waiting to hear about a twist adapter for the Gunfighter from VKB

Looks great, never saw these before, and yes the warthog is not the top dog anymore, and that is good because we need more variety in SIM land.

So many high quality options coming out, and I can't buy it all :D

Yeah - this does seem to be a very popular request, one I hope they do end up coming through with. I've transitioned to pedals, but it really is not an option for everyone, and I think a high quality twist mechanism would be welcomed by many, and would make them the "default" high end stick of choice.

Virpil (VPC) is a new company, and their first product out of the gate seems excellent. I am looking forward to VPC and VKB pushing each other to better and better products. I do wish either (or both) would produce a metal grip (like the Warthog) though, there is something about the feel of wrapping my hands around a cold metal grip on a freezing cold rainy evening, as I fire up my Vulture and prepare for a night of pew pew.

Have just played a couple of evenings with my new Warthog HOTAS, and am liking it very much. Fits my XXL hands nicely and the feel it great.

But living in the south western desert of America (Apache country), I'll have to wait for winter to experience a cold rainy evening. And even then it's seldom freezing. ;)

I haven't played Thrustmaster sticks since the early days when the inventor was building them in his garage. A bit of a step up I'd say. And my Thrustmaster pedals are on the way. :)

Gladiator Mk II came back in stock over a week ago, I ordered on the 10th and it arrived yesterday. The feel of the stick is much better than the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro I was using, the throttle is also much better. Working my way trying button bindings I can actually remember (curse my mind). Love the feel of it and I am tempted to get the new throttle system when it comes out if I can make room on desk for it. I have a feeling it will be in the $200 and up range though.

Oh yeah, and I have used many different joystick (HOTAS and not) over the last 30+ years. Not my first rodeo.
