Hardware & Technical VKB-Sim T-Rudders Mk.IV

I like em!

They're the first VKB products or rudder pedals that I've owned, so I suppose I don't have the best frame of reference. But the construction is solid and they were plug-and-play.

While it took an age for them to come into stock, they arrived within a week after ordering.

I had just gotten used to a "roll to yaw" button, so I've got some muscle memory to relearn.

I'll let you guys know how my experience changes. I still need to reverse the cam and fiddle with the spring tension to see what feels best.

They are precise, but I'm having some trouble with them. I find myself doing one of two things. Either I "rock" back and forth constantly near the center point, or I just slam the pedal down in one direction.

Neither of these is great for control. Of course, I'd have this issue with any rudder pedals used for yaw.

I quickly learned to use mine with my shoes off (stocking feet) and found I have much better control now.

I do sometimes catch myself 'resting' a foot on a pedal though. Usually caught when I see my ship 'drifting' ever so slightly left or right. ;)

Stick with it, it takes a couple of days. I use the above bare foot technique too, actually.

I'm so glad customs here in Aus is reasonable efficient. I can't imagine how these things can take so long to clear customs in this day and age.
