VKB T-Rudder not working

I've just got the T-Rudder Mk IV. The plan is to replace the twist yaw on my hotas X before eventually getting a better stick.

I've got the VKB config software, and appear to have upgraded the firmware & done the calibration. It shows up ok in VKB's JoyTester, and responds as expected on RotX. I just can't get Elite to recognise it at all- it won't bind it to an axis. Anyone got this working? Many thnaks.

Maybe too late for a reply but yes the rudder works, just got mine about two weeks ago. If I remember correctly, I had to try a different usb port.
