Voice Acting

With voice added to things being read in Elite
Any chance you could ever get either

Neil Ross-Mass Effect(game) information Narrator

or

Jim Dale-Harry Potter Audio books Narrator

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to these 2 great voice actors and think they would make a very comfy atmosphere when cruising around exploring listening to daily news or Milky Way Galaxy info.
Even of they only ever read a couple things for Elite it would be amazing [heart]

Well the codex migth grow over time, so there is a chance. Plus new audio logs from whatnot else. Maybe they even go the extra mile and make all logs you can pickup audio transmissions.

If you can afford him, try Stephen Fry - he narrated the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy in the film, after Peter Jones (the original voice in the radio/TV series) died.

Or Norman Lovett.

Been thinking about this, and slept on it a bit...

Perhaps it's better to have 'unknown' voice actors. The more I think about it, much as I love Morgan Freeman, Stephen Fry etc. it would just pull me straight back to England, Earth in the early 21st Century. I'd actually be happy with the robotic female voice used for Galnet. I could listen to her for hours.

I listen to Audible Audiobooks a lot, maybe there's some folks there who could do an awesome job.

Maybe some of the ED content creators could do some of the voices?

As long as I don't have to listen to yet anther North American accent in a game then I'm happy.
Currently the accents / voice acting is really well done.

Yeah, the game's, erm, very 'English' SF. what with the Douglas Adams references etc. It's why I initially thought of Stephen Fry.

I wonder what our friends in the US/Canada/Australia think: would English accents make the Codex sound too much like an evil criminal mastermind? Or C3PO and Mary Poppins?
