Voice attack and Elite Dangerous in VR

Hi all

Have been running voice attack and playing ED with no issue at all .. but now an trying it in VR but cant get it to work.
I run Voice attack ... it is working, test it etc .. all ok .... start up Elite Dangerous in VR and voice attack closes.

Start ED in VR .. then alt tab out and start voice attack and ED will close

Both Voice attack and ED are in steam

am using Vive.

any ideas ?

I used va, hcs packs and vive fine...

What I have found is plugging the headset into the vive is a no go
Using the vive mic is a no go

Both these create too much noise on the line and nothing gets recognized.

I use a trusty headset with a boom mic, and plug direct into the pc
I also tell va to only listen to the pc inputs, not the vive's

Not sure on the exclusivity bit there...my va is non steam and I use the alienware Adrenalin to start my programs in turn (similar to a batch file)

I run VA before and after I run ED launcher, no problem.
Also started using Vive mic, but remember to go into VR settings and change mic to use Vive mic (Listed as USB mic) not current system default. Vive uses Vive mic ONLY when VR running.

Don't think my problem is so much my headphone ... although I am using a G933. But maybe more an issue that I am using voice attack purchased through steam.
It is not that my commands are not beng recoginised .. more the program closes completely.

if I have it running ( VA) .. all is working fine .. recognises my voice and responds ok ... I think start ED again from steam .. and VA will then close.
If I start ED from steam ... then alt tab out .. and start VA ... ED will just close ..

if not running in VR .. it all works sweet as .. no issues .. I start voice attack .. then fire up elite and all is working fine

Yeah you have to run both as administrator or neither. That's what they say on the VA forum. Something about not being able to interact if they are on different security levels.

Can you start both without Steam though? I can start ED without Steam.

When I run my Vive / VA (Steam or regular) I do the following.

1) Boot VA, making sure VA commands are set to go to the Elite Dangerous client.
2) Boot E: D.
3) E: D boots up in window mode. I go into game graphics and set to full screen. E: D has to be the active window if you want VA to work with it.
4) I test with a VA command called {TIME}. If the computer voice says "The time is xx:xx" then all is working and I boot up the game proper.
