voice attack for comms

I´ve not seen this posted else where, so if it´s been mentioned before ignore.

Just spent some time fiddling with voice attack. Got it set up so that when I say comms, the comms window opens. I can then select who I want to communicate with, as normal. Then I set up three macros...

Hello = o/ hi there
Testing = testing testing testing
Voice = voice attack rocks :)

remember to use enter as the last part of the macro, and you don´t need to use the keyboard to send basic messages.
Might be of use to the polite pirate types ;), and I apologise to anyone I may have spammed during my test.

I send a generic hello message this way to all passing commanders... :)

Useful info. I had VA to open my comms but didn't really think about quick messages and I can see how they could be really useful.
Gonna set some up now :)
+1

Could you please post one of your command sequences - I tried this but could not get it to work.

Also, are you using TrackIR as well?

hmmm command sequences... not sure what you mean.
I found the easiest way to set up any macro is to use the recorder feature. Start the recorder and type what´s needed.
Problem is it records your exact key strokes. Mine are slow :eek:, not sure if there is a feature to edit. Not looked yet.
Don´t forget to press
return at the end, else you´ll still have to reach for the keyboard. That was test one for me.
No trackir here. Using a ps3 camera, old sunglasses, and a delan clip

fly safe

You can equalise all pauses (to say 0.100 seconds) when inputting your commands. Its one of the options in the recorder I think ;)

It might not be a bad idea for us all to pool our VA comms messages so we can import them into our own profiles without having to type them all in. With the prefix thingybob in VA.. we could even have an entire library of commands so we can speak to comms text.

This is really cool stuff people are doing here. I've been slow to use the Comms because taking my hands off the Joystick to type is not really practical, especially when I am sitting back using VA for everything else.

Any chance of posting some .VAPs ?
