Voice Attack Need: "Home" hotkey on Panels

In order to program Voice Attack macros using the target and systems panels, there needs to be a "return to home" hotkey option. This way we can request docking easily, among other internal ship requests like "modules" "subtargets" "cargo" etc.

I second this. I use voice attack alot and I wish I could do more like, change turretmode or disable a module. A home keybind that resets the selected tab and function to a default would allow us to program any command easily

check out this guy's demo and PDF on how to make advanced panel switching so that VA always knows which panels/tabs are currently selected. Warning: if you too are sleep deprived like I am, it can melt your brain!

My tests are a bit hit and miss because he created that VA profile during Beta I believe and now a few things have changed (both in ED and VA), but I believe it can work. I'll post the profile here if I can get it to work 100%.

likewise, if you manage to do so, please share.

Not watched this but I suspect you need to ensure you use VA for all movement around the panels? ie: If you press a key once (instead of using VA) it will mess it up?

I agree, I wrote my own voice control application for ed because of the oculus rift and this was one of the first items I thought - how / wah? so I have to rely on the fact I always have default panels before I start asking my computer for docking requests etc. being able to have/bind a "reset" or "first panel" of "focused" window key / command would be awesome.

On a side note, I've actually stopped using VA now as I'm quite often on Team Speak with friends. Obviously this clashes with VA. So I've now unfortunately move away from using it :(

does team speak use any kind of hotkey or is it just an open mic? - I am not sure how voice attack works, but I have to say "Computer" or whatever word I choose before I can say a voice command, would be super easy to add "computer" (mutes team speak - takes command - unmutes teamspeak) if you get what I mean? - (btw - I just find it a nightmare trying to use the oculus rift with a keyboard, I have about a 5 millimetre crack to see out of if I look past my nose)

I have TS set up as PTT, I have the same button set up as "mute" in VA. That way anything said in TS is ignored by VA.

Yeh, I tried that, but just found I was talking so much (over TS) that it just made it daft to even use VA. I've found I can resort to buttons/keyboard OK, so alas VA is now unused.

I must admit, the more I play the less I am using voice, I am using an X55 that has like a billion buttons and switches so I find I might voice "Computer - Landing gear" from time to time, but even that I could just map to another toggle.

ps. if anyone was interested - my voice thingy is @ chat-to.me (that's the actual domain name)

Well today I played about with it and managed to get something quite decent. It rarely goes out of sync. The key is to have a voice command to reset your variables. You can also map the keyboard keys to the same voice commands you use this way if you use the KB from time to times your vars still get set/reset. I'll share my profile when it's finished.
