voice attack, tricky problem.

Are you guys that are having issues running soundblaster xfi or similar cards? This card was causing me the same issues as the drivers caused the card to stop recognizing the mic. I switched to the on board sound card and all is now fine :>) I think its a sound driver issue.

I have just started using voiceattack and mic. I had issues with the recording volume for the mic resetting itself regularly, built in to windows it seems. My gain would stay at 20% which is fine for my mic, but the recording volume would keep resetting to 53. I got around this by going into the windows speech settings, and clicking the set up microphone option, and when windows asked me to speak the sentance to set itself, I put the mic right up to my mouth and near enough whispered into it. Now windows automatically sets the recording volume to 100 and my problems are solved. I hope this helps someone else.

I've been using it quite extensively for a while now and had no problems with it. Sometimes it does delay a bit before doing what it's told but it's to be expected, it is a woman's voice you hear from the ships computer after all ;) (ducks the other half's shoe:p).

Old thread I know :p, but I've been having this exact problem (as per Straker), anyone found an answer?

I have been having exactly the same issue for a long time with VoiceAttack and I'm about to give up on it.

Let me be clear about one thing - I have trained Windows Voice Recognition and when VoiceAttack works, it works perfectly. After about half an hour of use, it stops recognising voice commands totally.

Points of interest:

  • Just after it stops working, it prefixes everything it detects with "if" - as shown in the screenshot below
  • After it stops working, when I click on the Listening Button, it won't toggle Listening mode, it simply states each time "Listening suspended" - as shown in the screenshot below.
  • Once it stops working, I need to exit the program and restart it, at which time it starts working correctly again. Nothing else I do appears to fix it once it has stopped working.

One of the other things that slightly annoys me with VoiceAttack is how it takes about 5 seconds to redraw the Profile commands window when ED is running (ie I've just switched back to Desktop). I wonder if anyone else experiences this?
