Voice Attack Trouble Shooting

Voice Attack
Still having issues the commands are been recognized, but they are not been executed , landing gear & jump drive are not working.
Also the Docking request , just move to the left panel , and doesn't request docking
I using the ED voice pack , anyone else using this and which ones seem to be a few there.

My PC runs ED on Ultra , the keyboard is a G19

I too, am having this same exact problem. I even doubled check to see if it was Win Game Direct X mode. Both the Game Direct X and standard keyboard inputs are not executing the command in game.

You should make sure that the key bindings for those functions are actually set to the same as what voice attack is expecting. If you're anything like me and you fiddle with your control scheme on a daily basis, you might have changed something so that it's not triggering anything.
You can also check if the delay of the key press is too short, it might not register in the game.

Beyond that I'm not sure, I've got the voice pack as well, but I only got it for the sounds and I've configured everything from scratch (mostly because my control scheme is extremely customized.)

So, I went back through, and made the key press a little longer. (All my commands right now are simple, press and release "x" button for 0.500 seconds.) I would think that half a second would be more than enough time for ED to pick up the command being sent from ED. I am sadly mistaken, and yes, I did try both WinG and Standard keyboard signals. Still trying a few things...
Simon Terlecki: I too like to fiddle with my control settings almost every other day, to really fine to the controls to my liking, and for the greatest of ease. : )

Try adding a "pause" command instead of a key action.

If the commands are being recognised and some are being executed and not others, then it's most likely you have the wrong keybindings set in the in-game menu. You also need to be sending Direct X signals but if you are using the standard voice pack that should already be sorted, maybe apart from any new commands you've added.

For mine a press and release of 0.05sec is fine, shouldn't be anywhere near 0.5sec.

As others have said, use the recorder. In recorder I have DirectX method, consolodate key up/down into single presses and record pauses between events all checked, with equalize pauses to 0.10 seconds. After you are finished recording and click OK, it will change everything you have done to "push button for .1 seconds, pause .1 seconds, push next button .1, etc". That seems to work well, and the buttons are always recognized by the game. Another tip is, if you have a control bound to a joystick or other device that the recorder can't record from, you can use the F1-F12 keys as secondary controls in the game's control settings. Voice attack recorder can record them then and the game doesn't use any of the F-keys in the default settings, so you won't mess up any other bound controls.

Voice Attack Docking Request Command

Hi,

Just checked if anyone else was trying to get VA to carry out the Docking Request, and here's a copy of what I posted in another thread: -

Well, I've configured a VA Command that carries out the Docking Request, it has been tested only a couple of times, so if anyone wishes to use it then you're doing so at your own risk! I'm being held responsible for the loss or destruction of anything, CLEAR!?
:D

Code:
Press 1 key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press E key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press E key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press Space key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press S key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press Space key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press Q key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press Q key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release
Pause 0.5 seconds
Press 1 key and hold for 0.02 seconds and release

This is based on my current Key Bindings for controlling the "Interface Mode", so you're could be totally different, but just change as required.

Once it has carried out the request it then goes back to get focus on the first Tab (Home).

When I tried it the first time without the pause it didn't get past the first screen, it just flickered up then it was gone. You might want to try different pause times, I started with 1 sec between all of them, but slowly dropped it to .5 sec.

Regards

I do not believe my current problem is needing a "pause" command to fix this.
I am unable to even do the most basic thing.
Here what is happening:

I say "Pull up Comms"
Voice Attack recognizes this, and executes the command.
-Press "/" for 0.5 seconds and release
-Play Sound "TrekConfirm.mp3"

I have tried WinGame Direct X mode, Standard keyboard entry, I have extended the press time from 0.200 seconds, to 0.500 seconds. Still nothing.
The funny thing is, Voice Attack works with everything else! EveOnline, Chrome, IE, my computer system.
(I even have it being able to give commands to my Xbox One via Text-to-speech.)

I will try a few of the new suggestions stated above as well, and post results later.

I delete the ED stuff because the voice pack is rubbish, never could get it to work properly, Just make your own commands.

Can't get something to work on your system, so it's rubbish? Ha.
It works like a champ for me, and I've also created many of my own commands including a docking request that works and FSD commands that first retracts anything that is still deployed.

Just to clarify and reiterate what others have been saying:-

For your specific example mentioned here, and forgetting all about Voice Attack for a moment, is the "/" key actually bound to the Comms panel action in your Elite\Options\Controls settings?
