ED stopped responding to VA after updating VA to 1.10.3 - after wasting a day - rolling-back, uninstalling changing settings, removing and reinstalling HCS voicepacks the penny finally dropped - need to set to "Run As Administrator". SEE EDIT BELOW

Just thought I'd post my embarrassment to save anyone else falling for it.

EDIT - thanks to @UseLessUK message (below) it transpired that I had ED set to run as administrator - removing that for both ED and VA left everything working properly. (Don't know why I had ED set to run as admin.)

Why do you have VA running as Admin? If VA needs to be ran as admin then the question is why on earth are you running Elite as admin as doing so means you have to run VA as admin so it can interact with Elite.

I don't run Elite or VA as admin and they work fine.

Well VA has been running fine for me for years. When I did the 1.10.3 update the commands from VA were not being carried out by ED - only after much mucking about I found that it would work if I set it to run as admin. Just letting others know in case they found the same thing. I can't remember if it was set to run as admin before that update.

EDIT: Further investigation showed that indeed my ED shortcut had "Run as administrator" set - removing that (and for VA) let everything work correctly. I wonder why I had ED set to run as admin - I had been away from the game for a long time so maybe it was set in the past to overcome some issue / bug / feature? ;-)
