Voice Attack

I bought it, but never really got into it... even with voice training it still boost me into the walls a few times lol

Call me old fashioned but I prefer keys and buttons... something tangible.

I think it's really neat and allows even more immersion into the universe.

My friends and I have created a command where we say "Evasive maneuvers" and our ships automatically make us do a roll and a 180 to face a ship interdicting us, etc. etc.

The command possibilities are endless. It's only 8 dollars too, so I mean why not?

I really like it.

Especially when I'm using a stick. I still use it for the odd thing when using kb/m though.

It's really not much of a hassle, should only take you 10 minutes to set up for simple stuff. Longer if you want voice responses and such, but it's really good.

I think it's worth it for automating things. For departures I have an action to turn on the lights, divert all the power to the engines and retract the landing gear. I have a similar one for landing, and another for contact with hostiles. Best 8 bucks I've spent yet.

I think its great. Once I did the voice training, it all works perfectly. I have all sorts of commands linked into it. Its like I'm using a Star Trek style computer system. :)
I have it so when I say 'Thanks' after a command it replies "That's ok commander", LOL love it.

:D

I also highly recommend it - a great addition to the game and easy to set up> Luftwolfe, would love to know how you set the evasive maneuvers!

I've used it since the beginning of the betas, used it so long I've forgotten what button does what :p Makes life in space a lot easier, especially when in combat and you don't have to take your hands off the controls to switch weapon groups. just tell it to :D

Better question is, are there any free profiles for Elite?

I bought Voice Attack to use in Star Citizen, and was rather disappointed to see that all the profiles for Elite weren't free like their SC counterparts =(

I set it up for the first time today. It isn't any hassle at all. I was amazed by how easy it was to set up. I'll definitely be buying it.

No more fumbling about looking for keys in the brightly-lit LED darkness of the DK2. It makes the Galaxy Map easier to use as well. I just edit my "destination" command to be the sequence of keys spelling out which star system I want to type into the search textbox. It means I can take long detours but get back on track quickly.

Tbh its a very good prog.
Life saver for me when it comes to elite and my 360 pad, many commands i use through voice as it's much easer when for instance in a heated battle, putting max pips in shields or max pips in weapons ect, instead of fumbling with the joypad.

I can only recommend it.
Just be careful after using it for a bit and you got used to it.

I once almost crashed my ship into a station once because the damn thing just wouldn't follow orders.
Realised just in time that i wasn't wearing my headset.

Always make sure that you are actually wearing your headset/didn't mute your mic/etc. Could save you a trip to the insurance screen. :)

Voice attack, is it worth the hassle?

Yep, and if you can find some existing profiles, you don't even have to a lot of work. Maybe have to change a few keybinds or edit the commands to match yours. The profile I use the most is about 87 commands. If I am needing precise control, I just use the keybinds manually instead.

Never run the game without it.

I have around 27 commands so far. Also i have added around 4 or 5 different return sayings... $8 is nothing for such a great program. If you have alot of backjground noise just use a PTT button on the mouse (Forward button for me) that way you dont accidently splutter your character over a station because pirates of the carribian in the background just said full speed ahead capitan... Last night i have no idea what i was watching but every 2 seconds "Going silent" "Engines at 100% sir" "Turrets engaged" Turrets dissengaged" Spent ages trying to figure out what was going on then heard the TV saying my commands lol.

I have around 200 commands on mine. I think that it is brilliant. As a BH but also a player who just plays with a Logitech X3D stick and regular keyboard, the time saved in milliseconds or even seconds in combat is vital. There are all kinds of adjustments being made by voice while I concentrate on the stick, maneuvering and firing. I have to admit that 100 of the commands are comprised of my 'onboard computer' reading to me. It took some months to type all of it in during Beta. 'She' reads me quotes from Sun Tzu, Miyamoto Musashi and some existentialist philosophy. There are also some responses if I ask how awesome my flying just was...always flattering! Yeah I know...but it can get lonely on those long trips looking for people to kill for money. A little bit of Kirkegaard, Nietzsche or Sartre can go a long way :p

Thanks for the help everyone. Its all positive so I think I'm going to go for it. If anyone could give me advice on making a good set of command, or if you could send one over that would be even better.

Thanks Again. :)
