Voice chat range?

Not had chance to test it yet, can anyone confirm if there is a limit to distance and voice comms? I know you have to be close to request a chat but does it disconnect the chat based on distance?

Im all for FD implementing a party system for the people i hope to meet on my travels. Much like xbox live party, teamspeak, or vent etc.

I'm currently using teamspeak, if anyone would like the server info just leme know and ill send it across ;) Currently at work so ill get back to you in 5hrs...

Thanks guys!

Tried it yesterday morning, the voice coms still worked when the called person was in SC, in another system, or even when he was playing and I was on the main menu. I guess voice coms now always work if you are in logged in the same server as your friend ! :p

Also, I think there was more noise/disturbance/delay in the signal when my friend got in another system, might want to confirm that after the dev team resolves the current connection problems.

Thats good then, can you speak to more than one person at a time? And is there a way to join a specific server yet? Other than the private mode...

Cheers ;)

It's global - you can even use it from menu screen.

I believe you can multiuser it if everyone opens contact with all relevant commanders.

Thats pretty cool... How is the quality though?

Bearing in mind that there is a distortion effect with a beep when you stop talking thats been put in for ambience, the quality is pretty good. And thats through observing it all second hand via a twitch stream.

Yup, been using it since beta1 with a friend, it's bloody fun and the quality is good enough to clearly understand what the other is saying. It's hard to go back to ts/skype once you start using voicecoms ! :)
