Voice Commands In-Game

Building on quality of life improvements, something that could elevate the game even more is the addition of voice commands to the main game. there are 3rd party programs that already allow this, but they are costly for what they are worth and often do not work very well ( I have personal experience with this part). it would be much more beneficial for Elite to develop it's own Voice Recognition and Command system and cut out the dependence on 3rd party applications.

Voice Commands will allow players to proceed with actions without having to touch a button, saving time and creating a more immersive experience, commands can include;

-"Power To engines"
-"Power To weapons"
-" Deploy Heatsink"
-" Start Docking Procedure"
-" Lights on"
- various Fighter commands like "weapons Free", "Stand down", "Attack my target"

These commands also come with multiple versions of phrases to diversify player input, they can also readily be translated to accommodate various cultures. this content is entirely optional to everyone, and could either be added to the main game as an update or as a part of a paid DLC. COVAS voices will respond to commands briefly confirming actions where necessary. The Voice commands can be updated with every update as required without the dependence of 3rd party programmers doing it in their own time.

Overall, this would add a whole new layer to Immersion in Elite Dangerous, and feel more polished then using 3rd party software. plus for the fact it will likely be a free update or as a part of a DLC it will be considerably more cheaper than 3rd party applications and far less messy.

Voice Attack pretty cheap, think its only £5 on Steam. That what i use anyway, takes some tinkering, but once done, rarely have any problems with it unless it can't understand me when i'm shouting in distress "power to weapons". Need to be really calm when using it.

For that reason, not sure if they'd just open up a can of worms with threads saying "their in house voice command" is broken, because it cannot understand one voice in certain situations. They then have to do it for multiple languages, it begins to become a department in its own. Either way, it would still have to rely on the Windows voice trainer i'd imagine & some external companies probably have more R&D in this already that they'd be better off just trying to partner somewhere to better make it compatible with CONVAS perhaps. idk.

I do like it, couldn't play ED without VA tbh
